Vocational Rehabilitation Services – Shanti Second Chance Store

Trainees learn “hard skills” like computer use, inventory, scheduling, taking donation and delivery orders and schedule customers, maintenance, pricing, furniture repair and display, cleaning, customer service, cash register, workforce expectations, appearance expectations, work ethics, etc.

Trainees also learn “soft skills” like communication, boundaries, assertiveness training, problem solving, decision making, self-esteem, risk taking, value clarification, and more.

Additionally, trainees learn how to create a resume, job search skills and job interviewing techniques. It is our hope that by providing a long term solution thru education and training, individuals will be more likely to become self-sufficient and independent in the future. We strive for a goal of either job placement or enrollment in a higher education institution by the time the trainee is ready to graduate from the program. This program works in conjunction with the short and long term goals set by the other therapeutic programs that trainees are involved in at Shanti.

All monies generated from the store are re-invested into Phoenix Shanti Group services being provided to those with HIV/AIDS and “at risk” community.

Located at: 4015 N. 16th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85016. On the corner of 16th St. & Indian School Rd.
